What is on it
Four seasons, seven jobs each.
Spring is the outside of the house waking up: gutters, roof, air conditioning, the sump pump you have not thought about since last year. Summer is water and appliances — flushing the heater, descaling the taps, the dryer duct that quietly fills with lint. Autumn is everything that has to be ready before the cold: the boiler service, the outside taps, the chimney. Winter is the short list you do from inside, including the one job on the page that is monthly rather than yearly.
Each line carries the interval next to it, so the page is useful even before you start ticking things off.
Being straight with you
This list fits almost every house. It does not fit yours exactly.
A septic tank adds four jobs nobody else needs. Hard water halves the interval on the water heater. Trees over the roof turn one gutter clear a year into two. A house with no garage does not need the garage door tested twice a year, and a flat with no chimney can ignore a seventh of the page.
That is the limit of any printed checklist, including this one. The paid version asks twenty-one questions about your house, filters a hundred jobs down to the ones you actually have, and works out when each of them is next due from the date you last did it.
